Lauterbrunnen is a small alpine village in the famous Jungfrau region of Switzerland. It is the ideal base for both summer and winter holidays for hiking, mountain biking, skiing, sledging or gentle walks through the breathtaking mountain scenery. The valley has 72 waterfalls, including the 300m high Staubbach Falls in the village and the Trummelbach Falls, which thunder through mountain caverns.

The village has several shops and restaurants, a post office and two banks. There is also a small convenience store (open all week) a few minutes walk from the apartment.

Lauterbrunnen is the starting point for cable cars and mountain railways that climb through beautiful scenery to the car free resorts of Wengen and on to Jungfraujoch, Europe's highest railway station at 3454m or to Mürren and on to Schiltorn/Piz Gloria, of James Bond fame.
